For two years, the team at TIME has been working with faculty at the University of North Texas Health Science Center - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) to integrate human trafficking education into the medical school curricula. We are excited to announce that starting this Fall, human trafficking training will be mandatory for third year medical students. We are incredibly grateful to the staff at TCOM for realizing the importance of this education not only to future medical providers, but to the patients they serve.
This is an encouraging sign of things to come and we hope to use this momentum to encourage medical schools across the nation to arm their future physicians with this very important information.
